How to choose your first serious racket
Stop guessing. A racket is a tool — match it to your game, not the pro who endorses it.
Stop guessing. A racket is a tool — and the right tool fits how you play. Here is how we walk a customer through the choice at NotA.
1. Be honest about your game
Aggressive smasher? Defender? Doubles front-court? Each style maps to a different balance point.
2. Weight matters
4U (80-84g) for speed and longer rallies. 3U (85-89g) for power and stability. New players almost always want 4U.
3. Flex
Stiff shaft rewards fast swings and clean technique. Medium flex forgives.
4. Tension
String tension is half the racket. Start at 24 lbs and climb only when your contact gets cleaner.
